Craft Fair Build Up
I'm participating in two craft shows in early November so I decided it was time to focus on making new product. Since my neck warmer has been my most popular item, by far, I plan to make a number of them. Here is #1 of the new set.
I wanted to make some up too because I am teaching a class this weekend at my LYS and I wanted to re-familiarize myself with the pattern before then. The days are getting shorter and cooler and it will soon be neck warmer weather.
This one is 100% acrylic. I used a double strand of Bernat Softee Chunky. It didn't quite flow on the needles as well as the alpaca versions or the wool blends, but I like the sturdiness and weight of it and some people are allergic to or avoid wool. The model is my new "neck" cut from an unneeded branch of our backyard apple tree. It should make a great display at the craft fairs.
Oh, and speaking of neck warmers, my lime alpaca one is in the Etsy challenge this week if you'd care to take a look and vote for your favorites: http://etsychallenge.blogspot.com/2008/09/915-knittingcrochetneedlework.html
