A Banner Knitting Day

I actually finished two sweaters this weekend, and I found a cache of wonderful yarn at the local thrift store. Both things made it a banner day on Saturday not to mention that I got to chat with my little grand daughter on Skype.

Here is the Chocolate Brown Alpaca Ursa that I finished for myself. This one had way too much seaming with a double button band, but I love the look of it.

Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca
Color: Chocolate Brown, Color 6205
(darker than it appears in photos)
Pattern:

Ursa by Berroco Design Team

Started February 9, 21010; finished March 6, 2010

I stopped by my local Goodwill yesterday and was thrilled to find a huge amount of quality knitting yarn, Cascade 220, Galway Paint, and Encore DK( at least that is what I think it is), some in sweater quantities. The most expensive skein was $3.99 and much of it was $1.99. What a find and last night, I cast on with the peach Cascade 220 for this sweater:I can already tell that this is going to be a challenging pattern for me, but I love how it looks and it is a top-down knit, so no seaming!

Photos will have to follow for Umberta, the other sweater I knit for my daughter and also finished this weekend.

love your brown sweater, and the buttons are so cute. That blue sweater is amazing - I have no idea on how to knit, and am always amazed at people who do. It's like, you can't have ANY errors, or it throws the whole pattern off! Good luck with it!

The color combo in the basket looks great together - any chance of them winding up together?

When I hear how grateful people are to find things like fabric and yarn at Goodwill it makes me feel better about donating them to our local one. (I wondered if anyone would appreciate them).
The sweater looks great and best of luck with that last pattern--happy knitting!!
