Gingerbread!!

My only experience making a "real" gingerbread house was hardly a success. My daughter and I had a tradition of making Christmas houses each year and they were generally constructed with cookies, crackers, and candies on a base of foam core board or cardboard using decorators icing. They proven very durable and we bring them out each year for the holidays.

One year we decided to bake gingerbread and make our house. We decorated it with blue frosting and it was cute and lovely for a short while before it self-destructed.

I love my collection of houses. but they pale by comparison to this knitted masterpiece! I am so impressed!!

And check out this cute variation on a gingerbread house, it's a Gingerbread partridge in a Pear Tree:
Check back as I may be adding new gingerbread items as I find them.
