My 200th Blog Post Stats

Flower Nano case
To start off, here's my creation from yesterday, Day 135 of Crafting 365. It's a Nano video case (or cell phone case) I put together last night. I have now used all the wonderful flowered parts of this little sweater.

Today marks my 200th post on my little blog. When I started my Etsy shop and this blog it was a complete leap of faith on my part to think that people would come and want to read and buy my items. I had never before attempted to sell any of my creations. Today, as I'm writing my 200th post, I'm reflecting on how I've done since starting this journey. And as I look back on the past 8 months it has been a wonderful journey so far. I have "met" so many wonderful people along the way. After 200 posts and almost 100 sales, I thought it was time to take stock, hence I put together these stats on my efforts to date:

My Blog:
First blog post:June 24, 2007
200 posts to date

Data from Google Analytics:
7602 visits (July 3-March 12)
5627 visitors

74% new visits
Top countries for visitors: US, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Frances, Spain, Denmark, Turkey, and Italy
Top states for visitors: Idaho, California, New York, Washington, New Mexico, Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Illinois
Top Traffic sources:

Etsy 6%
Direct traffic 6%

My Etsy Shop:
First listings: June 17, 2007
First sale on Etsy: June 26, 2007
Total sales on Etsy: 59
All sales 96
"Hearts" for my shop 414
Most popular item* Cabled neck warmer knitting pattern
* most items in my shop are one of a kind, but I've sold 20 copies of my original knitting pattern.

My Flickr:
# in my contacts: 317
# Calling me a contact 244
# of Flickr groups 78

Along the way, I have become a regular on Ravelry, set up a My Space account, joined a number of Etsy street teams including Etsy FAST, Etsy Knits, Idaho Indie Works, and Etsy Sellers Who Blog, published on Indie Public , in the Etsy shops directory, and Style Hive (I still haven't really figured that one out), joined a number of blog rings, and set up my own web page. I created and printed my own business cards as well as a variety of cases and holders for them.

Thanks to everyone who's joined me on part of this journey. Truly, it's been a blast so far and I'm excited to continue and see where I end up. I wish my mother and father were alive to see these little successes I've achieved. They were both very creative in their own way. My Dad, the newspaper man by vocation, made baskets and mosaics among other things and was a photographer and poet. My mother was the master of all forms of sewing and needlework and she was ever the perfectionists. They instilled in me the love of the hand made.

Congrats! I've had 900 visitors in less than two weeks so I'm excited.

I like that you put your stats on your blog.

I'll bookmark so I can check in again soon.
Best to you!

You certainly have stats to be very proud of.

You get a lot of people from your own state. Do your in-state friends and family visit your blog?

I don't get such a high percent from my own state (WA) so I'm curious what you think drives that.

That was a beautiful post. I teared up a bit when you mentioned your parents.

I wish you continued success.

The stats on my blog come from Goodle Analytics that I have installed on my blog. It's a free program and provides lots of information. You can also see the key words folks used to search and find your blog. I don't know about the high number of visitors from Idaho...I don't have other family here, but I do give out my business cards and have had a fair bit of local business.
